4VS WINS FOUR (4) VIDEO AWARDS
Four Village Studio producers were presented with four “Nor'easters” at the “2025 Alliance for Community Media, Northeast Regional Awards Ceremony”. Studio representatives were in attendance to accept the acknowledgements held this year in Northampton, Massachusetts. Eligible programs were mandated to have been produced and first-time cablecast during 2024, and are judged for recognition in a wide variety of categories at this highly competitive annual event.
FPFD: Red Alert”, from host/producer Larry King, took the 1st Place award for an episode detailing the mission of the “Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior” non-profit organization. The program, entered in the Community Impact category, details how the NCFF-OWW supports active and retired service members, with special focus on our wounded troops.
A 2nd Place accolade, in the Music & Performance category, was given to host/producer Wes Houston for his program “Wes Houston Presents…”. The show featured Wes, and a number of his musician friends, performing songs in memory of the late harmonica virtuoso George Christ. Wes recently celebrated 25 years of creating episodes, showcasing hundreds of regional musicians at the studio.
Another 2nd Place prize went to host/producer William Corbett, Jr., in the Profile Talk Show category, for an episode of “Inspiring Stories”. On the program, Krista Giannak describes many of her accomplishments and challenges while navigating life as a person with blindness. Bill has been a show host for 15 years at Four Village Studio.
The final award honored William Corbett, Jr. once again for his program “Inspiring Stories”. This episode on the “Tumbleweeds Foundation” garnered a 3rd Place award in the Diversity Empowerment category. Co-founders John Cavallo and Meagan Kinny discussed their efforts to enhance the lives of families and individuals affected by trauma, and also bring awareness to Treacher Collins Syndrome.
The annual regional festival accepts program entries from community television producers throughout New England and New York State. This is the 25th year that Four Village Studio has submitted entries to the festival where hundreds of programs compete for the top honors. 4VS has collected 79 awards in numerous categories since first entering the regional competition.
