FOUR VIDEO AWARDS
To Four Village Studio
At 2008 ACM-NE Regional Video Festival

v
Four Village Studio is the winner of Two 1st Place awards
and
Two 2nd Place awards at this year's “Alliance for
Community Media, Northeast Regional Video Festival”
.
The
Two Top Honors were presented for an episode of
“The Floral Park Mayor’s Forum” and for “Centennial
Gardens: The Walking Tour”
. The 2nd Place awards
were garnered for
“Wes Houston Presents…” and the
“Floral Park Centennial Fireworks Display”.

v
Producers Larry Davidson and Mayor Phil Guarnieri
received a
1st Place Award in the Municipal/Government
Programming
category for “The Floral Park Mayor’s
Forum”
. The subject of the winning program involved the
proposed “MTA/LIRR 3rd Track Project”.  Floral Park
Mayor Guarnieri, New Hyde Park Mayor Daniel Petruccio
and Garden City Village Trustee Gerard Lundquist gave
voice to community opposition of the plan.
Larry Davidson was the moderator.

v
4VS tied for the 1st Place Award in the Community
Impact: Making a Difference
category. “Centennial
Gardens & Bird Sanctuary: The Walking Tour”
was
produced by former Floral Park Mayor Steve Corbett, 4VS
Operations Manager James Green and 4VS Technical
Advisor Michael Zmuda. The program highlighted the many
accomplishments of the Floral Park Conservation Society
and the network of volunteers that helped transform the former “sump” into a “jewel of the community”.

v
The studio won a 2nd Place Award in the Music and
Performance
Category for “Wes Houston Presents…”.
Host/Producer Wes Houston was honored for
an episode that featured a performance by the
edgy traditional Irish band “Finn’s Fury”.

v
Another 2nd Place Award was collected in the Local
Attractions
category. Producer James Green won for the
“Floral Park Centennial Fireworks Display” recorded
last January 1st at the Floral Park Recreation Center.

v
The award-winning producers were acknowledged
at a ceremony held in Methuen, Massachusetts on Saturday,
November 15th. The annual regional festival accepts program
entries from community television producers throughout New
England and New York State. This is the 10th year that Four
Village Studio has submitted entries to the festival where
over 500 programs competed for the top awards. 4VS has garnered 30 awards, in a wide variety of categories,
since first entering the competition.

v
“These awards acknowledge the studio’s efforts and results
when measured against those from similar facilities”, said 4VS Operations Manager James Green, “and it is gratifying
to know that after 10 years we are still, competitively on our
game. All the dedicated volunteers at 4VS share equally in
any of our successes. I am very appreciative and proud
of our entire staff”.
