4VS WINS THREE (3) VIDEO AWARDS

Four Village Studio won three video awards at the 2015 "Alliance for Community Media, Northeast Regional Video Festival". 4VS program entries received two 1st Place awards and one 2nd Place award in three very competitive categories.

Host/producer Wes Houston won 1st Place in the Music & Performance category for an episode of "Wes Houston Presents...". The program featured the "Feinberg Brothers", a five-piece bluegrass group led by two teenage siblings from Long Island. "The main focus of our show is to help promote live music by showcasing the many talented performers in our area" said Mr. Houston, "and the Feinberg's are certainly among the top acts out there for music fans to enjoy. All of our guest musicians, and the dedicated 4VS production crews, have my great respect and appreciation for the efforts they have given to the show during its first fifteen years".

Another 1st Place award, in the Diversity Empowerment category, went to host/producer Larry Davidson for his show "Davidson & Co.". Larry's guest on the program was Andre Donegan, author of "Overcoming Obstacles: When One Door Closes, Another One Opens". Mr. Donegan, who was born with a number of severe physical challenges, spoke about his life and the journey of hardships and successes he has encountered. "Certainly, this was a compelling life-story" offered Mr. Davidson, "and I am grateful for Andre's courage and willingness to share his story with our audience". Since the studio's inception, Larry Davidson has won more ACM-NE Video Festival awards than any other 4VS host/producer.

The studio won a 2nd Place award in the General Talk Show category for "The Antique Road Test". In this episode, host/producer Walter Gosden and co-host John Salemmo chronicled the history of "Car Accessories: 1910-1960's". The program regularly examines specific elements of automotive history using many authentic parts, related artifacts and period photographs. Mr. Gosden and Mr. Salemmo are life-long antique automobile owners, historians and enthusiasts.

The award-winning host/producers will be acknowledged at a ceremony being held in Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday, November 21st. The annual regional festival accepts program entries from community television producers throughout New England and New York State. This is the 15th year that Four Village Studio has submitted entries to the festival where approximately 500 programs vie for the top honors. 4VS has collected 46 awards, in a wide variety of categories, since first entering the regional competition.

All three of this year’s award-winning programs can be viewed at any time on the 4VS website by going to the “Watch Now” link to access each program.
